The much-awaited engagement ceremony of Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta has already started, and the internet can’t keep calm. Just now we brought to you how royal Akash and Shloka were looking when they came out to pose for the cameras. Akash’s mother, Nita Ambani and his sister, Isha Ambani too were looking resplendent in Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla ensembles. For the royal couple’s engagement, who’s who from the cricket, Bollywood and business fraternity have arrived at the venue.
Akash Ambani’s chacha, Anil Ambani and chachi, Tina Ambani came early at Antilia and were colour coordinated in white. Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, Vidhu Vinod Chopra with his wife Anupama Chopra and their kids arrived at the venue. Kajol looked beautiful in a white and shimmery blue attire and made an entry with director Karan Johar, who looked dapper in a green embroidered bandhgala with black pyjama. Ashutosh Gowarikar with his wife, Sachin Tendulkar with wife Anjali Tendulkar and daughter Sara Tendulkar, Javed Akhtar with his wife Shabana Azmi, Anil Kapoor with his daughter Rhea Kapoor, Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur made the ceremony even more royal with their presence. Gauri Khan looked like a million bucks with her handsome man Aryan Khan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda with her sizzling daughter Navya Naveli Nanda stole the show. Tiger Shroff looked handsome in black outfit while his alleged girlfriend Disha Patani dazzled in a lehenga. Ranbir Kapoor with his mother Neetu Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit with her husband Dr Sriram Nene, Kiara Advani, Rani Mukerji, Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra, Aditya Roy Kapur, Ayan Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, newly-weds Sagarika Ghatge and Zaheer Khan, Abhishek Bachchan with wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, Rekha, Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Harbhajan Singh with wife Geeta Basra and daughter Hinaya Heer, Uddhav Thackeray, Armaan Jain and Aadar Jain, Rahul Bose among others arrived at the venue to grace the ceremony.
Though the details of the engagement have been kept under the wraps by the families, as per the reports, Ambanis have roped in word’s best brand for food. As per a Wedding Sutra blog, a French uber-luxurious food brand called Laduree will be serving the guests at the ring ceremony of the couple. The menu is decided by the Mumbai-based catering company Foodlink Banquets and Catering. The stage is also decorated with the flowers. Both the families, Ambanis and Mehtas, announced the formal engagement for this much-in-love couple, Shloka and Akash with a ‘Save The Date’ video and an invitation card. The star-studded royal pre-engagement ceremonies including mehendi and sangeet were hosted for Shloka and Akash. Isha Ambani, twin sister of Akash, welcomed her bhai and bhabhi with all the rituals on their pre-engagement bash.
In a throwback interview with a leading media portal, Nita Ambani talked about her son, Akash Ambani’s engagement with Shloka Mehta. In an interview earlier, Akash talked about his childhood love, Shloka, and stated to a media portal, “I am truly happy that our friendship has blossomed into love and Shloka and I are getting married, she is a truly special and extremely kind-hearted person." And the soon-to-be Ambani bahu gushed about her hubby-to-be Akash and was quoted as saying, “Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded, and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don't just get along - we also support each other's hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together. We are lucky to have a love that began with being best friends and luckier still to have such supportive families." For the uninitiated ones, Akash Ambani’s fiancée, Shloka Mehta is the daughter of Russell Mehta (a diamond doyen who owns Rosy Blue) and Mona Mehta. Shloka is also the director of Rosy Blue Foundation since 2014 and in 2015, she became the co-founder of ConnectFor, her brainchild which gathers volunteers for various NGOs running in Mumbai.
