The Punjabi playback singer, Afsana Khan, had garnered immense fame and recognition from her short stint in the reality show, Bigg Boss 15. Afsana had succeeded in catching people's attention through her outrageous behaviour inside the reality show. Talking about her singing career, Afsana had started it as a participant on the singing reality show, Voice Of Punjab 3 and had become an overnight sensation with her song, Titliaan.
Afsana Khan was evicted from the Bigg Boss 15 house after her unruly behaviour inside the reality show. After her eviction, Afsana had met her fiance, Saajz Sharma, and in an interview with Telly Talk, she had revealed their wedding plans. She had also shared how she had felt proud of Saajz for supporting her when she was inside the Bigg Boss 15 house. Revealing her wedding date and venue, Afsana had said:
"Shaadi ka plan hai. February me hum shaadi karlenegy, Chandigarh me."

According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, a woman named, Anu Sharma has moved to Mohali Court and filed a petition to stop Saajz Sharma and Afsana Khan's impending wedding. In her complaint, Anu mentioned that she had got married to Saajz with the consent of their respective families on September 6, 2014, as per all the traditions and rituals. Anu also added that they are even blessed with a daughter, who was born in February 2016. After her marriage to Saajz, she and her husband were living in Zikarpur. As per reports, Anu had returned to her hometown, Raipur, after being tortured over dowry issues.
The report further stated that Anu Sharma has also revealed in her petition that Saajz Sharma had fraudulently divorced her. She explained in her statement that Saajz had given the wrong address in the divorce papers, which is why she had never received any summons from the court. As per the report, Anu had learnt about Saajz's wedding plans with his ladylove, Afsana Khan, in December 2021, and since then, she has been trying to reach out to him. However, after multiple failed attempts, she decided to file a petition against their marriage in the Mohali Court.

According to the same report, Anu Sharma had also opened up about the beginning of her love story with Saajz Sharma in her statement. The woman revealed that Saajz travelled to Raipur because of his professional commitments, and that's when she had met him. After a series of meetings, the two had fallen in love with each other. The couple had informed their respective families about their relationship, and they had agreed to their marriage.
