Kanyadaan is a popular Hindu ritual in which the father gives away his daughter in marriage to the groom. It means that he had gifted his daughter to the groom as a part of his parental duty. And, this ritual alone can evoke millions of emotions in every girl's mind. While no one has ever debated about this wedding ceremony, there is a father in Kolkata that made a difference by refusing to do the kanyadaan.
For those who don’t know, there is a post on Twitter that talks about the wedding with a difference, where female pandits performed the wedding. But, the highlight of the entire wedding was the father refusing to give away his daughter like a possession because his daughter is ‘not a property to give away'.
