Our country is a place where beauty is measured on the basis of certain parameters. If you don’t fall under those parameters, you are not ‘BEAUTIFUL’. Some of these beauty parameters include being slim, fair and tall. So, according to our dear society, if you are dusky, overweight or short, you are not eligible to fall in the category of ‘BEAUTIFUL’.
This practice of objectifying on the basis of looks, size and colour is quite evident in both Bollywood and the Indian television industry. These unfair standards not only body shame you, but also sideline your talent, by mostly preferring skinny girls for lead roles, over plus-size beauties. But, some divas have redefined beauty by setting all new #beautygoals! These ladies are not thin, but talented, confident, FAT and Fabulous! They have made it loud and clear to society that curves are beautiful and sexy!
Let’s take a look at these gorgeous ladies from telly land who are setting the screens on fire with their talent and beauty that is not confined to their size. They are not playing the ‘fat friend’ in the show, but the leading lady, the ‘Heroine’. These divas have proved that different is better!
The laughter queen of Indian television, Bharti Singh is one of the best comedians we have. She is plus size and absolutely confident about herself. Although, she makes fun of her weight during her acts, but she is extremely happy with the way she looks. She has never tried to change herself and that is the best part about her. She even considers her weight to be a blessing.
In one of her interviews, she said, "My weight has been constant for a long time. I go for a full-body check-up every six months. I've never had any weight issues. Main jab paida hui thi, tab hi overweight bachha thi. Plus, being a Punjabi, I'm fond of eating. I have no plans of losing weight. In fact, my weight is my biggest blessing today." She has proved the saying- the bigger it is, the better it is! She is surely a packet full of talent.
Anjali Anand is a fresh face in Indian television and we must say, she is extremely confident. She has made her debut with the Star Plus daily, Dhhai Kilo Prem. The show is about an overweight couple and she is playing the lead, Deepika, who is happy and content with her looks and weight. She is also one of the most famous plus-size models of India. Look at her face, her gorgeous features can give any slim TV actress a run for her money. She's not the typical crying-fat-girl, who is shy, introvert or hiding. She's fearless, confident and speaks glamour.
Talking about being plus size, Anjali said, “It's time for this country to change its perception about people who are different. I proudly say I am not part of the crowd, I am six feet tall, my shoulders are a mile broad and I love how I look. I am A Model. You putting a tag of plus size, curvy girl etc. on me, doesn't change the fact that I'm doing my job because that's what I came here to do. Demeaning the way I look is only going to make this society a smaller person which they already are, if they're standing next to me.” Also Read: 'Anjeer' Is One Dry Fruit That Helps You Fight All The Weight, Hair, Skin And Health Problems
She is surely breaking all the stereotypes, that too unapologetically!

For a very long time now, this lady has been ignoring the societal norms of ‘thin is beautiful’ and proving her mettle in the glamour world with her superb acting and beautiful looks.
She was once quoted as saying, “From walking for Shaina NC to a recent ramp walk for a plus-size fashion brand, I've done it all with confidence. When people look at me I want them to see a strong confident fat women who is doing all the things that they sort of associate with thin women. Yes, I am a plus size and I can walk the ramp. I am a plus size and I can rock almost all the fashion trends.“
Delnaz further added, “Because at the end of the day, it's all about you as a person and not what you weigh on the scale. As long as you are comfortable with the way your body looks, as long as you are healthy and fit, as long as you enjoy the way you are, what is the need to change? Why inculcate a change that you don't even want in the first place, just because people expect you to want it.”
Well said Delnaz! Your talent defines you, not your plus size. Size doesn’t really matter, because beauty cannot be boxed!

She is plus size, but that doesn’t stop her from flaunting a bikini or wearing shorts! This spunky lady is proud of her body, but it took her some time to accept her body.
Talking about the same, Rytasha said, "It took me a long time to accept my body and be fine with it. Of course from a health point of view, I know I should lose weight but purely as an aesthetic thing I know I am damn cute, sexy and beautiful. I think after studying acting things changed for me. It made me feel I will always be amazing no matter what and I shouldn't listen to other people."

She has a voluptuous frame, but from a very long time, the actress is working out hard in the gym to shed some weight. She is losing weight, not because she is not happy with her body, but because she was becoming unhealthy with each passing day.

Curvy women are often looked down upon in our society. To break that stereotype and stop body-shaming, Akshaya recently shared this beautiful picture with a bold caption. She said, "We, as women, need to get out of this entire nutshell of being PERFECT! Unfortunately, PERFECT has always been portrayed to be fair, slim, wearing fully covered clothes, well-mannered and obedient. Well, we need to overcome this. As long as you love yourself, you are PERFECT and no one has the right to destroy your self-confidence to be WHO YOU ARE. Thin, fat, fair, dark, tall, short - you are BEAUTIFUL. I dedicate this picture to all those who have made fun of my chubbiness since childhood and especially in my college days. Who said, "You'll burst if you eat a grain more because you're bloating like a BALLOON." GO AHEAD, and say more. You have given me more courage to accept myself and love my body. Be the QUEEN of your life and let no one conquer you. PS: Flaunt your curves with all the grace.”
Your message inspires all of us, Akshaya! Thank you lady!

In one of her interviews, Pushtiie said, “I have to agree that there was a time when I thought – haye main toh bahut moti hoon (oh! I am very fat). When I was doing theatre, many people would come to me and say you're so pretty but I wish you'd lose some weight. That irked me. Then I thought- But this is who I am!
