Destination weddings cost a lot of money; whether done in India or abroad. You need to book a hotel, not only for yourselves but for your family and friends too. Then, there’s the air or rail fair. The vendors at popular and famous destinations are also very expensive. So, do you really want to spend all that money on your wedding or use it on your honeymoon, your dream house, a new car or maybe something else?

#2. You will get rather unusual or late gifts

People might not want to carry big gifts with them, while they travel and so might give you your wedding gifts when you are back from the wedding. Or, if you are having a beach wedding, someone might want to gift you exclusive beach wear which might not be so useful later on. Are you okay with all of this or prefer cash or practical and useful gifts?

Just like you want beautiful gifts from your guests, they might be expecting some wedding momentos from you in return too! Here are some really great and unique gift ideas for your guests! They will love it!

Because that will determine how much you will need to pay for the travel and all the other other expenses. Also, some destinations have become very popular for holding weddings and so the vendors and planners there, charge huge amounts of money for all the arrangements.

#4. Will it be easy to find and coordinate with the vendors?

Again, coordinating with vendors and knowing their whereabouts is easier when you are in your hometown. You might even happen to be aware of a few of them, courtesy some other weddings which they may have planned (your cousin’s or friend’s maybe). But out of station, that might not be the case and in a situation of crisis, you might find yourself stranded without any help.

#5. Is unusual wedding clothing something you are okay with for your wedding pictures?

You will be having at least 4-5 functions that will include all your pre and post-wedding rituals along with the wedding, of course. Plus, you need to add some days for the travel and rest. And then, the offs you need for your honeymoon will also have to be considered. Will your boss spare you that many leaves? Think, think!
