Sushant Singh Rajput's GF, Rhea Chakraborty's Brother, Showik Chakraborty Gets Bail After 3 Months

Bollywood actress, Rhea Chakraborty's brother, Showik Chakraborty was granted bail after three months by NDPS court in Mumbai.

On June 14, 2020, the whole nation had suffered a huge shock after hearing about the untimely demise of talented, charismatic, and young actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. But what's even more painful is that even after so many months, everyone is still unknown to the reason behind his death. A nationwide commotion had occurred when Sushant's girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested regarding a drug nexus that had come up in the investigation. The NCB had arrested not only Rhea but her brother, Showik Chakraborty also in the same case. On October 7, 2020, Rhea Chakraborty was granted bail by Bombay High Court, but her brother, Showik Chakraborty's bail plea had been rejected. On December 2, 2020, ANI took to their Twitter handle and revealed that Bollywood actress, Rhea Chakraborty's brother, Showik Chakraborty was granted bail by special NDPS court in Mumbai after almost three months. The tweet can be read as "Special NDPS Court grants bail to Showik Chakraborty (Rhea Chakraborty's brother) in a drugs case registered by Narcotics Control Bureau." A few weeks ago, a fresh bail plea was registered in the court from Showik's side in which the youngster had claimed that the facts are falsely implicated against him. His bail plea could be read as "In the facts and circumstances of the present case, given that no commercial quantity has been alleged in respect of the applicant, there has been no recovery from the applicant and that all allegations pertain only to small quantities, the embargo imposed by Section 37 of the NDPS Act, 1985 would not be applicable."


After Rhea Chaktrabrty's release, her mother, Sandhya Chakraborty had talked to The Times Of India and had said that although it was a relief that Rhea is out of prison, the fight was not over as her son was still in custody. She had said, "It's crazy it's still not over. My son is still behind bars and I'm paranoid about what tomorrow will bring." Sandhya Chakraborty had further admitted of having suicidal thoughts herself. In her words, "My family's not just been pushed to a corner, it's been destroyed. At one point I thought the only way to end it was by ending my life." She had revealed that she couldn't sleep while her children were suffering in jail. Sandhya had also mentioned that after Rhea had come home, she had looked at her parents and had asked why they look sad and that they have to be strong to fight this.
