The 'Kaminey' actor has finally decided that it is time for him to settle down, as he recently got engaged to Delhi-based college student, Mira Rajput. Finally, the celebrations of this most-awaited wedding of the year have begun. The couple had a big fat Punjabi sangeet ceremony on July 6, 2015. And, here is a look at the very gorgeous, Shahid and Mira, enjoying the most beautiful times of their life. While Shahid looked super-hot in sizzling red kurta and jacket teamed up with a black churidar, Mira looked stunning in a lemon lehenga choli.

Shahid Kapoor needs no introduction. This man has already made a name for himself. But, who is Mira Rajput and how did the two meet? Well, Mira is a third year, English Literature student from Lady Shri Ram College (Delhi University). She hails from a well-off family of South Delhi.
Mira and Shahid's family are firm believers of Radha Soami Satsang Beas sect, a worldwide renowned spiritual group. It is the leader of that group who suggested the families about the possible match who later, jointly finalised the marriage. Yes, Bollywood’s heartthrob and Casanova is having an arranged marriage with Mira!
The couple who has a 13 year age gap between them (Shahid, 34 and Mira, 21) is believed to be eagerly looking forward to the nuptials and is all set to get wedded on July 7, 2015. In fact, Ms Rajput is reportedly busy doing up the interiors of Shahid's Mumbai pad.

Well, the wedding card of this gorgeous couple has just been out and it has revealed quite a lot about their big day. The subtle and charming invite includes the details of the dinner party that will be held in The Oberoi Hotel, Gurgaon, on July 7, 2015. The card includes the names Shahid's mother, Neelima Azeem, as well his stepmother, Supriya Pathak. Another thing in the card that caught our attention is the last line that says, "No gifts please, blessings only". Here, take a look at it:
Both the families are planning to have a small gathering for the pre-wedding and wedding ceremonies. There will be around 40-50 guests in attendance including the leader of the spiritual group, Radha Soami Satsang Beas. Shahid wishes it to be a really intimate affair with just close friends and family in attendance.
In an interview with DNA, Salman was asked if he was invited to the Shahid's wedding. He said:
Not yet, but I am sure he will send an invite.
Earlier, it was believed that Shahid and Mira's wedding outfits will be designed by the actor's friend, Masaba Gupta. However, a latest report from the Times Of India reveals that it is another designer friend of the groom, Kunal Rawal, who would be styling him for his wedding. On the other hand, Mira's outfits for all the wedding ceremonies will be designed by Anamika Khanna. Many reports are also suggesting that the couple's wedding day outfits will be in matching colours.

While all other ceremonies are expected to take place just the way they are planned, it is believed that Shahid has cancelled his bachelor trip to Greece due to his busy schedule. A source close to the actor has been quoted by a leading tabloid saying:
“Because of his work commitments, Shahid had to cancel the bachelor party, which was being planned by some of his close friends. His friends were disappointed, but Shahid convinced them by promising them that he will make another travel plan with them by the end of this year.”

The lucky groom will be blessed by his three mums. Neelima Azeem his biological mother, Supriya Pathak, his stepmother, and Vandana Sajnani, his ex-step father Rajesh Khattar's present wife will all come to shower their blessings on the young couple. Since, Shahid is close to his half-younger brother, Ishaan, he has decided to invite Rajesh Khattar, father of Ishaan and ex-husband of Neelima Azeem to the wedding.
Vandana Sajnani has even confirmed the news to DNA:
“Rajesh is part of the whole thing. He is in talks with Shahid and they are currently in the process of locking certain things. It’s a big day for the family and we will be there to bless the couple if we are in the country and not travelling overseas for work at that time.”
There were rumours doing the rounds that Shahid’s ex-girlfriends will be there, but a friend of the Chocolate boy slashed all this in a statement:
"None of Shahid’s ex-girlfriends are likely to be at the wedding. The truth is, he has been singularly unlucky in love. And he does not want to be reminded of his ill-luck with love on the most special day of his life."
But, if one goes by the other side of the coin, some reports by leading newspapers are suggesting that Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor’s old flame, and her husband Saif Ali Khan, have been the first ones to receive the invitation for the wedding.
All the filmy friends of this 'Haider' star will be a part of his happiness, though. Shahid will throw a lavish reception party for the Bollywood celebrities as confirmed by sources close to the actor.

Not much has been revealed about the events that will take place in this wedding. The engagement, which has been speculated to have happened at the beginning of the year was a well-guarded affair. And if a little birdie is to be believed, Shahid apparently gifted Mira a 23-lakh custom-made solitaire engagement ring.
There is however, one famous pre-wedding party that went viral. Mira's friends hosted a bridal shower for the lady on May 6 2015 at 9 South Drive, DLF Chhattarpur Farms. It was a glamorous party and Shahid especially flew down to Delhi to be a part of the celebration.
There will be mehendi and sangeet ceremonies before the wedding, but, this too will be attended by close family members only. A follow-up party will happen immediately after the wedding at Mira's Chhattarpur farmhouse followed by a grand reception for the tinsel town's A-listers in Mumbai, on July 12.

Earlier, there were talks of a destination wedding for the couple doing the rounds of rumour mills. First,it was believed to be Bali, then, Istanbul and finally when everyone was convinced that it will happen in the romantic country Greece, it was revealed that all the events will take place in Amritsar, near Beas in India as a tribute to the spiritual organisation, Radha Soami Satsang Beas. But, friends of Shahid finally revealed that the ceremony will take place at a farmhouse in Delhi.
A source close to Shahid says:
"The wedding will be preceded by a mehendi and sangeet ceremony on July 6. It will be an intimate affair with only 40 to 50 guests in attendance. They will all be put up at Hotel Trident in Gurgaon. Shahid will fly to Delhi on July 2 along with his family. The marriage ceremony will take place in traditional Punjabi style at a farmhouse there."
The wedding will be followed by a post-wedding celebration at Mira's Chhattarpur farmhouse. The grand reception for the wedding will, however, take place in Mumbai. As the reports suggest, Shahid has chosen the Palladium Hotel in Lower Parel, for the same.

It is a known fact that Shahid Kapoor is a hardcore vegetarian. Also, both the families are avid followers of Radha Soami Satsang Beas, whose key members including their leader, Gurinder Singh, will be attending the intimate wedding. Hence, the menu for the wedding ceremony will be completely vegetarian.
However, for the reception, which will be staged in Mumbai, the menu will include delicacies in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian categories to serve all the well-known personalities of the B-town.
