Rajesh Khanna was the greatest matinee idol of his time in Hindi cinema. The actor had left a remarkable impact on the celluloid, and he had garnered the image of a true superstar back in the days, despite being a newcomer. Movies like Anand, Aradhana, Anurodh, Bawarchi, Amar Prem, Kati Patang amongst so many others, still stand a testimony to the legendary actor’s magic. In his personal life, Rajesh Khanna was infamously known to many as a ladies’ man, and it was his charming looks that would make women go weak in their knees. For the unversed, the actor got married to Dimple Kapadia and they are blessed with two daughters, Twinkle and Rinke. Rajesh and Dimple parted ways by 1982, but weren’t officially divorced.
Following in the footsteps of her parents, Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna joined Bollywood with her debut film, Barsaat in 1995. In her personal life, she is married to superstar, Akshay Kumar and the duo is blessed with two kids. Previously, in one of her social media posts, Twinkle shared a very fond anecdote about her father and late actor, Rajesh Khanna, with whom she was extremely close. Recalling how her dad never wanted to see her heartbroken over breakups, the actress revealed the interesting dating advice, her dad gave her. She mentioned:
“Don’t have one boyfriend, always have four at a time. That way your heart will never be broken.”

In the same post, which Twinkle penned a few years back on the occasion of her, as well as her father, Rajesh Khanna’s birthday, the former revealed how her dad claimed her to be the greatest gift in his life, when she was born on his 31st birthday. Moreover, she even mentioned how her father never referred to her as ‘baby’ but always used to call her ‘Tina baba’. Revealing how her father, Rajesh Khanna was the only man who could break her heart, Twinkle penned:
“He told my mother that I was the best present she could have ever given him as I entered the world, feet first, on his 31st birthday. He called me Tina Baba, never baby, and though I didn't realise it at that point, my upbringing was different from all the other young girls around me. The only man who had the power to break my heart."
For the unversed, despite gained a fair share of stardom and success as an actress in Hindi cinema, Twinkle Khanna, quite early on decided that acting wasn’t meant for her and evidently stepped down from the world of glitz and glam. Instead, she took up the pen and established herself as one of the best-selling authors in the block, infamously known by her pen name, Mrs. Funnybones. Back in 2020, in an interview with Tweak India, Twinkle Khanna remembered her father, Rajesh Khanna and revealed how the latter used to show off her poetry to many of his friends and colleagues, as he used to remark that her daughter would become a writer one day.

Previously, in a conversation with Masaba Gupta for Tweak India, Twinkle Khanna made some honest revelations about her parents, Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia’s separation. She credited her mother for raising her single-handedly in a patriarchal society. Moreover, she shared how she never wanted to stay under her parents' shadow, even after their separation, when she was merely a teenager. Elaborating more about the same, Twinkle said:
“What I did feel by the time I was a teenager, I resented the fact that I’m in their shadow. And it’s only now that I realise that I was never in their shadow, I was under their shade. It took me so many years to realise this, especially after I had a child. He doesn’t want us to help him with anything, he wants to do it all on his own. And then you realise, ‘Ok, I was this person once, and I didn’t appreciate it’."
