Bollywood actress, Sushmita Sen became the first Indian woman to be crowned as Miss Universe in the year, 1994. Later, she added another feather to her hat when she won the title of Femina Miss India in the same year. There is no denying the fact that Sushmita brought immense pride and recognition to the nation by making her mark worldwide. Apart from this, she also proved her mettle of acting in many successful films, like Aankhen, Main Hoon Na, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? and many others.
Recently, an old video of Sushmita Sen has been going viral on social media, which has raised our respect for the actress. A Reddit user dug out a throwback video of Sushmita from one of the press conferences, which didn't please her fans. In the viral video, Sushmita was asked an awkward question by a journalist, who compared her trajectory with the successful life of Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra, and said:
“Aap miss universe reh chuki hai. Aap ke baad Aishwarya Rai ji aayi. Priyanka Chopra ji aayi. Unhone bada kuch haasil kiya, Aapne bhi haasil kiya, thoda kam haasil kiya unke hisaab se.”

While the question posed by the reporter could have left any famous personality upset, Sushmita Sen maintained her calm and composure. Well known for her down-to-earth attitude, the actress humbly replied that she has made way less progress than the other Indian actresses, Aishwarya and Priyanka. Complimenting Priyanka Chopra for her achievements, Sushmita said:
“Bohat kam, in fact, Priyanka Chopra ne jo kiya hai woh bohat kam logon ne kiya hai. She made us very, very proud.”
However, it looked like the reporter wanted to check Sushmita Sen's patience hoping that she would react. He further asked the actress, “But jo aapki achievement hui hai woh apni jagah hai. Toh unke bare me kya kehna chahte hai?” Sushmita Sen then corrected him and said that actress, Lara Dutta, was the next Miss Universe after her. She further added:
“Mere baad Lara Dutta aayi hai Miss Universe bann kar. Uske baad unfortunately mili nhi hai par milegi, bilkul milegi Kyun ki hamara waqt aagaya hai. We are gonna win”

As the video went viral on social media, many netizens hailed the actress for her classy reply. Reacting to the video, a user wrote, “She’s so classy & sexy. What a fine woman!” while another one commented, “Very classy, dignified, sharp and down to earth woman. Grace personified.” Meanwhile, a third user took to the comment section to write, “My god. Such a diva in her looks and a total sweet badass when it comes to women and the nation. We need more Sush every now and then!”

Recently, Sushmita Sen went through an unfavourable time, as she suffered a heart attack, but soon returned to work post-angioplasty surgery. The news of Sushmita suffering a heart attack sent shockwaves around the nation, as nobody, even in their wildest thought, could have imagined the actress to have such an ailment despite her rigorous fitness. However, days after the news of her heart attack, the actress shared a long video on her IG handle and expressed her gratitude to her doctors. Thanking them for taking the utmost care of her and honouring her wish for privacy in such dire times, the actress penned:
“My hats off to you, my only request was that nobody should know that I was admitted and that there was a procedure going on, and they honoured that and kept the privacy all the way until I was discharged.” She also had a message for her 'favourite cardiologist', who said she had a big heart, "Thank you for making all of this so painless."
