Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding is the talk of the town, and their fans want to know everything about the ceremonies. From the décor of all the functions to the guest list, fans are equally ecstatic for the much-awaited wedding of the year. Speaking of wedding guest list, Sonam Kapoor made sure she personally invited Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for her wedding. As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source was quoted as saying, “Last week, when Sunita Kapoor bumped into Aishwarya at the wedding reception of Saudamini Mattu, the niece of designer Sandeep Khosla, she made it a point to greet her warmly and personally invited her for her daughter’s wedding. After a couple of days, Sonam also called Aishwarya and invited her.”
The source further informed, “They chatted for a few minutes after which Aishwarya graciously accepted the invitation. While the younger Bachchans (Aishwarya, Shweta and Abhishek) have been invited by Sonam too, the older ones have also been invited by both Anil and Sunita. Weddings are special moments, it’s a time to have fun and forget the past and everybody is doing just that for Sonam’s wedding. For those who are wondering what went wrong between these two divas, let us take you to the flashback. The rivalry between Sonam and Aishwarya started when Sonam was announced as the face of L’Oreal in 2009. Since Aishwarya was the international face of the company, she apparently expressed her dissatisfaction with Sonam walking the red carpet at the Cannes International Film Festival (CIFF). While Aishwarya chose to maintain a dignified silence on this quote, Sonam later informed that her statement was misquoted. Yet again, in 2016 when Aishwarya’s purple lips at the CIFF became a hot topic of discussion and trolls, Sonam told PTI, “The whole idea of fashion and makeup is for people to discuss it and I guess she (Aishwarya) wanted to be discussed. She achieved what she wanted to achieve with it, which I think is great. I think it (purple lip colour) looked great and she (Aishwarya) carried it off with aplomb. Aishwarya and Sonam’s cold war is going on since then, but now, they have let bygones be bygones. Sonam Kapoor personally inviting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan over the phone, and Aishwarya accepting the invitation, is a proof of them moving on from whatever happened between them earlier.
