Smriti Khanna, who rose to fame with Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, has been an avid Vlogger. She loves sharing snippets of her life on her Instagram handle and YouTube channel. Recently, Smriti left her fans in awe by announcing her second pregnancy. However, the actress first time opened up about going through a tough phase while trying to conceive her second child naturally and the hiccups she faced during the process.
For those who don't know, Smriti Khanna fell in love with Gautam Gupta while shooting for their show, Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, and in 2017, they tied the knot. Later, in 2020, Gautam and Smriti welcomed their first child, a baby girl whom they named Anayka Gupta. After embracing parenthood for the first time, the couple decided to welcome another child. However, the journey wasn't a bed of roses. Smriti on her YouTube channel, talked about how she faced her first miscarriage while trying for a second baby.

In a YouTube video, Smriti revealed that it was a stressful time as her mother's cancer treatment was going on, and just a few days before her passing away, she had a miscarriage. The actress called the experience scary. However, it was the second miscarriage that left her super scared. It was a chemical pregnancy and she thought that she should opt for IVF, which was again a mistake because of the excruciating pain of needles, the whole process, and she dropped the plan.
Smriti further stated that when she lost her hope, she conceived naturally. However, during the beginning of her first trimester, she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, which could harm the baby. The doctor's had to save her child as her condition was not curable. However, in the midst of it, she had to attend a wedding, and just 3-4 days before she started bleeding. Smriti was quoted as saying:
"I had to attend a wedding and 3-4 din pehle I started bleeding. I was so scared and rushed to the hospital, and thought I had miscarried again. When doctors checked, everything was fine and there was somehow bleeding. But you have to be on complete bed rest."
Smriti was asked to be on complete bed rest and to avoid showers as well. The actress stated she started feeling emotionally drained and depressed. She couldn't play with her daughter, Anayka. After 3-4 days, she decided to attend the wedding, and it helped her as her environment changed. Smriti further stated that it hadn't been a smooth pregnancy and had gone through a lot.
On April 17, 2024, Smriti took to her Instagram handle and posted a couple of pictures. Sharing the photo, Smriti revealed that she is soon going to welcome her second child. In the pictures, we could see the second-time mommy-to-be glowing as she donned a fitted baby pink dress with sequinned work on the bodice and a thigh-high slit. We also spotted her daughter, Anayka, hugging the baby bump while Smriti's husband, Gautam, gave her a side hug from behind.
In another photo, the trio was seen posing with their pooch, and the family looked super excited. Along with the dreamy photos, Smriti penned a heart-melting note and recalled the challenges they have faced during their journey. The mom-to-be further shared how their they have dreamt of this moment and fought through the tough times. She also revealed that her due date is in September 2024. Her note can be read as:
"After a journey filled with more challenges than we ever expected, we are overflowing with emotion as we make this beautiful announcement: Our family is growing! Our darling daughter Anayka is stepping up to the role of big sister, and our dog Lucas is about to become the best big brother. We’ve dreamed of this moment and fought through tough times to get here. Our hearts are full as we share our joy with you. Baby 2 is on the way, and we couldn’t be more excited to meet our newest love. Here’s to new adventures and endless love as a family of four... plus paws! September ‘24 it is!"
