Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are one of the most adorable couples in the entertainment industry. For the unversed, it was on April 20, 2007, when Aishwarya and Abhishek exchanged their vows in a grand wedding ceremony. Later, on November 16, 2011, the duo welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. However, the actress reportedly shares a strained relationship with her in-laws and doesn't live with them.
Recently, we stumbled upon some happy pictures of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with her nanad, Shweta Bachchan and saasu maa, Jaya Bachchan. The pictures were apparently from Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding reception. Aishwarya, like a doting Bachchan bahu, held the hands of Shweta and Jaya as they exited the venue. The actress looked extremely happy, and it looked like she was enjoying the company of her in-laws. However, it was Shweta and Aishwarya's banter with one another that simply grabbed everyone's attention.

In yet other glimpses, Shweta Bachchan was seen busy posing for some pictures with her daddy dearest, Amitabh Bachchan at Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma's reception. As soon as Aishwarya and Abhishek approached for a family picture, she made a miffed face and walked away from the frame. Shweta's changed expressions grabbed many eyeballs and hinted at the possible rift between her and Aishwarya.
Soon after the pictures were shared online, netizens started reacting to the same. Some users mentioned that when Shweta first came back to her parent's house from Delhi, she seemed to get along well with Aishwarya at that time. But post-COVID, everything changed probably because of Aishwarya and Abhishek’s marital woes. A user penned, "They always wanted Ash to make Abhi and the family her main priority. She must have gotten tired of boosting his ego, and the family is siding with Abhi, obviously."

During her appearance on the popular chat show, Koffee With Karan, in 2007, Jaya Bachchan was asked if she discussed her problems with bahu, Aishwarya Rai, after her daughter, Shweta Bachchan got married. To everyone's surprise, Jaya lauded Aishwarya and mentioned how the latter stays grounded despite being a successful diva. Jaya could be quoted as saying:
"She is lovely. I love her. I have always loved her. I have never ever seen her push herself whenever we are all together. I like that quality of hers to stand behind. She is quiet. She listens and she is taking it all in. And another beautiful thing is that she has fitted in so well in the family. She knows who are our good friends."
