Bigg Boss is, undeniably, one of the most popular and controversial shows of the Indian telly land. And the just-finished season 11 was won by Shilpa Shinde, who was crowned as the winner defeating Hina Khan, Vikas Gupta and Puneesh Sharma. In one of its episodes, as part of the luxury budget task of Bigg Boss 11, house inmates got to meet their family and friends. With the emotional roller coaster, swaying the entire country, there was one visit which truly stood out.
Shilpa Shinde’s mother was in the house as part of the task. She candidly spoke words of wisdom about motherhood. And after she got out of the house, she revealed why her daughter, Shilpa, earlier called off her marriage with her ex-boyfriend Romit Raj. In a media interaction, Shilpa’s mom spoke about Shilpa's marriage with Romit, and was quoted as saying, “Romit had proposed her. And my daughter had accepted his proposal because he was a good person. Both of them decided to get married. But after some time they realized that their opinions are very different. In fact, both of their families are also very different.”
She further added, “And it is very obvious that for a long-term relationship, you can’t compromise on such things. That is why my daughter decided to call off the marriage. She thought that it would be better to end the relationship now than going for a divorce later.”
For those of you who do not know, Shilpa was engaged to Adalat and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi fame actor Romit Raj. In fact, everything was all set for their marriage, even the wedding cards were prepared. But then, their marriage was called off with few days left for the D-day! Romit went on to marry, Tina Kakkar and Shilpa remained single all this while.
A few months ago, we brought to you the story of Shilpa opening up about her decision of calling off the marriage, in which she remarked, “I don't want to dig up the past. But all I will say is that it is wrong for a man to expect his wife to break ties with her parents.” She had even said, "I had left everything because of my marriage. As a girl, I know what my responsibility towards my husband and his family is and I used to do everything according to his will. I kept all his family members in mind but he still expected more from me. In fact, I always used to give my shooting time to them due to which I stopped getting offers because of my terms and conditions."
Well, these are quite a revelation.We would love to see, now that Shilpa has won Bigg Boss 11, how would she react to her stardom on the outside world.
