Dipika Kakar aka the ever-popular Simar of the hit TV show, Sasural Simar Ka opened up about her divorce, life post it, and the chances of a second marriage with her co-star, in a recent interview. Dipika was also a participant in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8.

When she was asked how her life has changed after her divorce with Raunak Samson, this is what she had to say:
“I’m relieved; it was a phase in my life that I don’t want to go back to. Maybe it was meant to happen, as I learnt a lot from it. But now I want that chapter to be closed.”

In an earlier interview, the actress opened up about her plans to get married again. She hinted at her possible choice of groom as well- her ex co-star from Sasural Simar Ka, Shoaib Ibrahim.
“I will update everyone about my personal life, as and when I need to. I am not saying anything [about Shoaib]. Right now, I don’t want to comment on my personal life at all. I don’t plan to die old and alone (laughs). I will get married at some point. I am a human being, and I have made mistakes, but I have also learnt from them.”
But, in a recent interview, she finally opened up about her affair with co-star Shoaib Ibrahim. Here is what she said:
"It's not mandatory that every love marriage should work; it can have its issues like compatibility too. Breaking off any relationship is difficult, almost traumatic. That's exactly what happened with me. My parents supported me and Shoaib helped me pull through those difficult times. We were not dating then."
She clarified that why didn't she make her relationship public. Here is what she further added:
"I wanted to be sure that this relationship wasn't on the rebound. Also, we were getting to know each other better. No matter how progressive we become, being a divorcee has some kind of a social stigma attached to it in our society. I had that stamp on me. But he gave me that space and despite being aware of my past, never complained about it."
The couple is planning to get married soon. The excited and happy Dipika said:
"It will be a combined effort and we want to save enough for the nikaah. I want it to be a destination wedding and it has turned out to be his hometown Bhopal. For now, I demand the next step should be a proposal, and that too for marriage. (laughs)"
