When you truly love someone, age is just a number! We can say this because we have seen a lot of celebrity couples who have a huge age gap. Here is one television couple who has a huge age gap between them and the rumours of their alleged love affair have always made headlines.
We are talking about Avika Gor and Manish Raisinghan of Sasural Simar Ka fame. Avika was 13 and Manish was 32, when they first met on the sets of their telly show. Despite the huge age gap, their sizzling chemistry created waves on the small screen! Soon, the stories of their romantic link-up started doing the rounds.
After they both left the show, the two have been busy making short films! The two cuties are often spotted together. They call each other their best friend, but the rumours of their love haven’t died down. In a candid chat with a leading daily, the two opened up about their alleged love affair, off-screen and also, what place they hold in each other’s life. Take a look!
The two have a 19-year age difference and they are still the most loved jodi of the small screen. When they first appeared together on Sasural Simar Ka, rumours of them dating each other started doing the rounds. Manish said:
"The gossip affected me in the beginning and I was stupid enough to maintain a distance from Avika. I became conscious and irritable during that phase. The rumour made me sick. But later, I realised that if my intentions are clear, why should I treat her any differently? I have never dated her; she is almost half my age. We are compatible, but I have never seen her that way. Anyway, such loose talks don't affect me anymore and we meet for work now."
The actor further added:
"People are still linking us. Just because we worked together, many started misinterpreting our togetherness. Avika has always been open to ideas and I work well with such people. Her openness helped us to be on the same page and work together. We are a great team and have many common friends who we associate with professionally."
When Avika was asked about the link-up rumours, she said:
"Manish is just a few years younger than my father, so there is no scope for any romantic involvement. We share a unique bond of friendship, which is inexplicable. It is based on understanding, respect, honesty and maturity. We are BFFs and he is a strong support system. I call him Shin Chan (the popular comic character) and he calls me Mitzi (Shin Chan's mother) till date."
Avika, just like Manish, was disturbed with the rumours of their link-up. She added:
"I was affected by it. In fact, we reduced the rehearsal time on the set to avoid more speculations. A few people even suggested that I tie him a rakhi to convince everyone. But then, we realised that we can't let these rumours affect our equation. We stopped caring about what people said or wrote, and didn't want to prove that we were just friends. We just worked on our on-screen chemistry to make it more believable."
So, how was her parents’ reaction after reading these rumours? Did they ever confront her? She said:
"Never. My mother was with me on the set almost every day, so they knew what was happening. My parents are extremely comfortable with Manish. In fact, they ask him to pick me up if they are busy. They were oblivious to the stories floating around."
Talking about her current relationship status, Avika said:
"I am single and a relationship hasn't crossed my mind yet. I don't even get as many proposals as people assume."
We are happy that the two have finally opened up about their equation with each other! The two are going to Cannes film festival with their short film and we wish them very best of luck!
