Rs 250 Crores Spent On A Marriage Ceremony

One of the grandest and lavish weddings of the millennium till date happened at Jaunpur where a magnanimous sum of rupees 250 crores was spent, making it the daddy of all weddings. This big fat Indian wedding witnessed Lalit Tanwar tying the knot with Yogita Jaunpuria and had paparazzi glued to it for the minutest possible detail.  The wedding was held on 5th March at Jaunpur village. The media was all over and speculating it as the costliest Indian wedding till date.

Mr. Tanwar, the renowned Gujjar leader, looked baffled over the hoopla created by the media over the cost of the wedding, despite candidly agreeing to the fact that the groom was indeed gifted a helicopter as one of the wedding gifts. As a part of the tradition of Tikka ceremony, the groom was bestowed with a gift of rupees 25 crores.. Twenty thousand guests were invited for the biggest Gujjar marriage celebration for the first time in India. The reception will be held in Delhi at The Ashok and this wedding extravaganza has a dazzling list of 1000 VIP guests which includes stalwarts like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and our PM Mr. Manmohan Singh have been invited to grace the occasion.

Three kilometers in and around the wedding venue, the overwhelming aroma and vibrant view of fresh flowers along with glittering lights set the perfect ambience for the costliest Indian wedding ever. Gurdaas Mann and Neha Dhupia performed at the wedding and the wedding menu comprised all the possible types of cuisines, including a dominoes pizza stand. Wall Street Journal ran a full column story for the $55 million Indian wedding. It surely can’t get better and bigger, or can it?
