Rani Mukerji Saying 'Women Who Are Making These Bad Boys' Gets Viral, Netizens Call Her Pathetic

Rani Mukerji, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Taapsee Pannu and many such powerful ladies are some of the industry's lovable actresses. Time and again, they have played powerful characters on-screen, trying their best to showcase the strength of women to fight against all kinds of odds in society. Thus, the four actresses were once brought together for a round table discussion with News 18 to candidly discuss women's safety, self-defence and many more such topics. However, Rani's statements on women irked netizens, who brutally slammed the actress for the same.

Rani Mukerji, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone and others delve into a conversation about safety in the workplace

At the beginning of the video, Anushka was heard saying, "After your home, your workplace is the place where you should feel the safest. And if you're not feeling that way, then that's really the worst world to be living in." However, listening to what Anushka said, Rani quickly mentioned that women should also have self-confidence. She said, "But I think it's important for women to believe in themselves and say that if they don't want this to happen, it will not happen. And if they're ever in a situation like that, they should make sure that the man suffers right there and then." However, disagreeing with her in a way, Deepika added that many women aren't constructed in that way. She quipped:

"Sure, but I don't think everyone's constructed with that sort of DNA unfortunately. I completely agree with you. I mean I completely agree that for a lot of people who have not been in that situation, it's probably because a) either they're lucky, they have never been in that situation or b) they've been strong enough to end it there and then. But unfortunately, there are women who are not constructed like that. They feel cornered."

Rani explains how women should learn 'self-defence' to protect themselves

Soon, Rani added, "But exactly so those are the women that we need to talk to and tell them that yaar you guys need to change." However, Anushka further counter-attacked Rani and was heard saying, "But then that's again about talking about what women need to change rather than the other way around." Rani then explained her point to the rest of the people present there, by quoting, "But Anushka, in life we cannot always depend on how the other person is going to behave with us. We have to take responsibility of our own self. We've taken it a step further." All the while, Alia was seen keeping a mum, but she still gave all her ears to the chat. On the other hand, interrupting Rani, Deepika questioned:

"We're now talking about self defense. I'm saying why should it even get to that stage?"

Rani finally mentions how women are responsible for making the bad boys

Adding to Deepika's question, Anushka mentioned, "The environment should be transparent that things shouldn't happen so easily", and Tapsee was seen happily staring at the Sui Dhaaga actress, which expressed the Thappad actress' support for her. Deepika further stopped Anushka and explained, "We shouldn't even need to reach that stage where I need to learn how to defend myself, or I need to learn. Of course, I think all of those things are great. I should learn martial arts, or I should learn how to." Amid that, Rani added, "You have to." However, again, Deepika added, "But nip it in the bud that situation itself shouldn't arise." Rani finally mentioned:

"Deepika, you cannot go and tell hundreds of mothers out there how they have to bring up their children because it happens right there. It is women who are making these boys who are doing this."

Netizens brutally slam Rani Mukerji for her statement on common women

As soon as the video was shared, netizens started brutally bashing Rani Mukerji for her statement on common women. While one user mentioned, "Rani was truly pathetic in this interview. I have lost whatever fondness I have for her.I like that Deepika and Anushka went against her. Rani's really annoying and gets away from what she speaks because of the nostalgia for her. She's stupid. Alia seemed irritated by her too", another commented, "According to her, all women should know self defense and women are responsible for criminals preying on women. She clearly is so out of touch with the reality." Many others mentioned that Rani's statement was simply unbearable.
