As a kid, we all had asked our parents why they had not invited us to their wedding. Well, we all were oblivious of the reality of life, however, Puja Banerjee’s son, Krishiv will not have to ask this question as his parents are going to invite him to their wedding. Puja and Kunal’s wedding story is definitely a twisted tale of fate. After dating for 9 years, Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna fame co-stars, Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma had exchanged the rings in a grand ceremony in 2017. After two-and-a-half years, Puja and Kunal had decided to tie the knot as they had already postponed it enough due to professional reasons.

Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma had planned to become each other’s forever on April 15, 2020, and tie the knot as per Bengali rituals, but the COVID-19 pandemic had ruined it all for them. The couple had to postpone their Bengali wedding plans, however, they had delighted their fans with the news of their secret court marriage. In April 2020, Puja and Kunal had announced that they were pronounced husband and wife after a registered court marriage in February 2020. The couple had embraced parenthood on October 9, 2020, by welcoming their little bundle of joy, Krishiv Verma.
Now, in a conversation with SpotboyE, Puja talked about her grand wedding plans and how she and Kunal still plan to have a proper wedding ceremony. Puja also mentioned that their son, Krishiv will also attend their wedding and will sit with his father, Kunal on ghodi. She said, “We will definitely get married with all the rituals. But yes we will not spend a lot of money. As the scenarios have changed now. The world is going through a lot. So, I really don't want to waste money. But I definitely want to fulfil my dream of taking saath phere. Bas is baar Papa ke saath ghodi pe beta bhi baithega. Our son (Krishiv) will never complain to us that you people did not invite me for your wedding."
When Puja was asked if they have finalised any wedding date as of now, the actress shared that their wedding has been cancelled every time they had planned, so this time they haven’t finalised anything. In her words, "This time we aren't planning anything. Because before this whenever we planned to have a proper marriage ceremony, things got cancelled. So now we are just waiting for things to get normal and everything is settled. As people are really very sad around us. We want the world to be happy again, only then will we do it."

To announce their court wedding, Puja Banerjee had taken to her IG handle in April 2021 and had shared a throwback picture from Durga Puja - Sindoor Khela in 2019. Puja and Kunal had shared that their court wedding had happened a month-and-a-half ago. Puja and Kunal had written, “This is a pic from last year durga puja sindoor khela. Today was supposed to be our wedding but the situation is such that we have cancelled all our ceremonies although we had registered our marriage before a month so we are officially married and together forever now.”
In her first post-wedding interview with SpotboyE, Puja had revealed the details of her secret court marriage. She had stated, “We had already done a court marriage, a one-and-half month back. We hadn't spoken about it to the world. Today, we were supposed to do our wedding rituals but had to call them off due to the lockdown. However, we will consider today (April 15) as our wedding. Aaj bataya na duniya ko!”
