When the break-up news of famous television actress, Chandramukhi Chautala aka Kavita Kaushik and Don 2 and Dilwale fame actor Nawab Shah, hit the headlines, all their fans were bewildered. There had been a lot of shocking celebrity divorces and break-ups, and theirs was one of them. Kavita Kaushik is now happily married to Rohit Biswas. The couple tied the knot in 2017 in the Himalayas.

Talking about the ex-couple, Nawab and Kavita met each other while they were working together on a play. During the course of time, Kavita realised that Nawab is that ‘Prince Charming’ that she has been waiting for.
Talking about how the love bloomed between these two, Kavita shared in an interview:
"He delivered a 30-page monologue and I performed a tandav in it. It was on stage that I knew this was the man I wanted to be with. I used to be impatient, short-tempered, selfish and a lot of other things. He made me realise my mistakes without trying to tame me. We have evolved together over a period of time. He knows me so well that it's scary."
Their break-up came as an absolute shock to all their fans, and everyone was wondering what might have gone wrong between this much-in-love couple. The two dated for five long years, before parting ways.

Before their breakup, reports were doing the rounds that it was the religion issue that was coming in between the couple. The speculations regarding their different religions being the hurdle in their love life started making headlines when Kavita stated that her late father had reservations because the two belong to different religions. Here’s what she said:
“My father has reservations because we belong to different religions. It’s really sad that people are still caught in that web. Why do we have reservations about another religion that it stops us from absorbing its goodness?”

But according to the actor, the Hindu-Muslim divide between the two was never a problem. In a throwback interview with a leading daily, the Don 2 actor revealed the true reason behind their split. Here’s what he was quoted saying:
"I don't understand why people are making a fuss about our religious backgrounds. I want to clear this once and for all... Kavita and I broke up because we had major differences for a long time. We are strong-headed individuals and in this day and age, religion cannot be a barrier in love, especially in a city like Mumbai, where people work and live together, regardless of caste or creed. Kavita and I did try to make our five-year relationship work, but we couldn't. We have gone our separate ways and I have nothing to do with Kavita anymore."
So, Nawab finally cleared the air!
Separations and break-ups are undoubtedly very difficult to come out of. It is aptly said that you need to fall in love all over again in order to get out of a break-up. So, the same thing happened with these two.
Both Kavita and Nawab have found love again. While Kavita is happily married to Ronit Biswas, Nawab, on the other hand, is in love with a cinematographer and graphic designer from Los Angeles named, Diya Balki.

On being asked about Diya, the actor said:
"I think I have found my soulmate in Diya. I believe that everything happens for the best, and currently I am in a happy state of mind. After my break-up with Kavita, I grew closer to Diya, who has been an old friend. I'll soon be going to LA for a two-month workshop. I'm looking forward to that."
And when Kavita was asked about the rumours of dating Biswas, she said:
"I know my father is with me and aligning all my stars up there for me and contrary to what people think, I am actually in a spiritually happy place and will talk about my life soon. Right now, I don't want to steal Nawab's thunder. I wish him happiness with his new life"
