Kuch Kuch Hota Hai can be safely hailed as one of the classic films of the 2000s, that has swooned millions of hearts with its modern and young storyline, along with a boast of a promising star cast. For the unversed, the Karan Johar directorial featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Sana Saeed, Archana Puran Singh, Reema Lagoo among others in pivotal roles. Even today, the film has strived to keep up its legacy as an iconic film since movie lovers can simply re-watch it at any given point, even today.
As on October 13, 2023, the iconic film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai clocked 25 years. And to mark the occasion, the makers of the film, Dharma Productions, took to their IG handle and dropped some stunning BTS pictures from the shooting of the film. From Rani Mukerji and Shah Rukh Khan prepping up for their iconic song, Koi Mil Gaya to Kajol’s breathtaking look in the wedding attire, every glimpse brought back millions of memories associated with this cult film. Along with the priceless pictures, the makers made a heart-warming announcement on the occasion of National Cinema Day, Dharma Productions announced a re-run of the film in the theatres once again, from October 15, 2023. The caption can be read as:
“Before you go down memory lane at the cinemas again, here's a glimpse of everything that went on behind the scenes. Experience the magic of cinema & #KuchKuchHotaHai on 15th October.”

As soon as the pictures were dropped, cinema lovers took keen note of the same and took to the comment section to put forth their views on the same. Well, it seems that nearly everyone was drowned in memories, as they turned nostalgic seeing the various BTS glimpses from the film. While one user wrote, “What golden days were those. Timeless memories. Trending fashion of times college students, crushes and pyar dosti hai time”, another user penned, “The magic still continues.”

While Kuch Kuch Hota Hai still strives to be one of the most celebrated films ever in Bollywood, there was once a time when a scene from the film had sparked controversy. Well, the scene concerned featured the then-child artist, Parzaan Dastur, who counted the stars in the particular scene of the film. While Parzaan’s character was definitely loved and adored by all, especially his cutesy dialogue, ‘Tussi jaa rahe ho… tussi naa jaao’, however, the Sikh community took this character portrayal in offence, and argued that it mocked their community. As a result, back in 1998, several Sikh members in Delhi had shown their outrage against the film.
Thereafter, the makers had to cut short a few moments from that particular scene featuring Parzaan Dastur counting the stars, and thereafter having a funny yet mimed conversation with Johnny Lever, before the film was rolled out in the theatres in Delhi.
