After 11 years of marriage, Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor and her ex-husband Sunjay Kapur parted ways with an ugly divorce. The couple separated in 2016 after fighting the legal battle in Mumbai Family Court. While Sunjay is happily married to Priya Sachdev, Karisma is allegedly dating Sandeep Toshniwal.
We all are aware of the rancorous legal battle between this ex-couple. And their battle even got worse for the custody of their two kids, Samiera and Kiaan Raj. After all this that happened, it was assumed that the couple won’t come face to face ever. But putting our assumptions to rest, Karisma was spotted outside a restaurant post lunch with her ex-hubby, Sunjay.
Karisma and Sunjay were accompanied by their 7-year-old son, Kiaan Raj. We still wonder the reason that made this ex-husband wife jodi meet unexpectedly after such a long time. After their divorce, the custody of the kids was granted to Karisma, and Sunjay has been granted visitation rights for them. Despite their differences, the parents ensure that their kids don’t suffer from it and get the best of both worlds.
The kids were recently in Delhi to spend some quality time with their father. Sharing some lovely pictures of them, Sunjay’s current wife, Priya wrote this caption on her Instagram profile, “#Twosday The perfect twosday post! Speaking about the lifestyle of her children, Karisma once told a leading daily, “My kids have a very simple home life. We don’t discuss movies all the time. Instead, we are always discussing studies, activities. It’s not a special home or anything different. It’s like any normal child growing up.” For those who don’t know, Karisma and Sunjay got married in 2003 and later they started facing trouble in their paradise.
Karisma accused Sunjay of domestic violence, and Sunjay accused her of marrying him only for money. During the divorce proceedings, Sunjay's lawyer was quoted as saying, “Karisma has used the children to demand money from my client. She is deliberately not allowing them to meet Sunjay. In the last hearing that happened on January 15, she wanted to bring them to court, but Sunjay was against it as it would have scarred their young minds and affected their psyche. She has been poisoning the children's minds against their father by telling them false stories. There have been instances when Samiera has said that she doesn't want to meet her father at all.”
After finally getting the divorce in 2016, Sunjay moved on and married Priya. On the other hand, Karisma’s relationship with Sandeep grabbed the limelight when they were spotted together at various events, parties and family functions. The rumours are that they might get married soon. Talking about the same, Karisma’s father, Randhir Kapoor said, “If she wants to get married, then she has my blessings. She is young and must be seeing Sandeep, I don’t know. I also see their photographs. If she wants to begin her life again and her children are happy with it then I will support them. I don’t think there is anything wrong in that in today’s time.” In fact, things got even more solidified when a leading daily reported, “There’s a loose talk of Sandeep proposing marriage to Karisma and purchasing a three-bedroom home in Juhu.”
