Hema Malini recently essayed the role of ‘Sita’ in a Ramayan skit enacted in Ayodhya, ahead of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in the city. While the temple’s opening is a long-awaited incident, it was the actress’ performance ahead of it, which was loved immensely by many. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Hema dropped unmissable snapshots from her performance. However, she also revealed that the day turned out all the more special for her, since it was graced by her Guru on his 75th birthday. She penned:
“Tulsi Peetadishwar ( Chitrakoot jagat guru) Shri Rambhadracharya ji celebrated his 75th birthday in Ayodhya as Amrit Mahotsav on Jan 17 . I had the good fortune to perform Ramayan, in which I essayed the role of Ram’s Sita.”

Back in November 2023, Hema Malini graced the Braj Utsav in Mathura on the occasion of 525th Janmotsav of Mirabai. The event was also attended by the honourable Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi. She took part in a dance drama based on the life of Mirabai, who like the actress, happened to an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. A trained classical dancer, Hema looked resplendent in a yellow saree teamed with a green blouse, as she gracefully carried out her performance.
Apart from her role as an actress and parliamentarian, Hema Malini is an equally devoted student of the Odissi dance form, and her stunning performances even at the age of 75, inspire millions of people out there. Back during Diwali 2023, Hema Malini arrived at her daughter, Esha Deol’s Mumbai residence to celebrate the auspicious occasion. The star daughter hosted a puja on the special day, where her mommy joined in. While Esha wore a red salwar suit, Hema, on the other hand, wore a mauve-hued saree, paired with a yellow blouse.
