Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon starrer comedy film, Crew has hit the theatres on March 29, 2024. There is not an iota of doubt that the three actresses are some of the top-notch performers in the industry. The Rajesh A Krishnan directorial also features Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in pivotal roles along with the three actresses. And with such a star-studded cast, there are often chances of an ego clash between them. Recently, the film’s director opened up about the same in an interview.

Crew’s director talks about the camaraderie between Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Tabu

Rajesh A Krishnan sat for interaction with News18 Showsha and talked about the camaraderie between Kareena, Kriti and Tabu. The director emphasised that he never saw any sort of ego clash between the three leads, and if there was an ego play, at any point in time, he was too busy to pay heed to such small things. In his words:

“If it did happen, I wasn’t aware of it. Even if there was ego play, I didn’t see any because most of my focus was on work. I didn’t feel the need to get involved in small talks. Neither did I encourage any of that nor was I pulled into it. Tabu, Kareena and Kriti are all stars who came on board, and they knew pretty much what they were getting into.”

Crew’s director shared that Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Tabu respected each other

On the contrary, the director of Crew said that Kareena, Kriti and Tabu used to fool around while they were shooting. Rajesh said that he literally had to ask them to stop messing. Further, he added that the three actresses had a lot of respect for each other. Sharing more details, he said:

“I saw they had a lot of respect for each other. There was a lot of chatting going on and I had to stop them saying, ‘Okay, children, the shot is ready.’ I almost had to tell them to stop messing and fooling around.”

Rajesh A Krishnan heaped praises on Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Tabu

During the same conversation, the director lauded the three actresses for their individual take on acting. He termed their collaboration as “a confluence of three different styles of acting like a Mercedes logo with three lines converging to the centre.” Moreover, Rajesh recalled how Tabu’s emotional quotient always felt right, and further lauding the 52-year-old actress, he said:

“She internalises things. Regardless of the lines she was saying, the emotional quotient always felt right. She was open to doing multiple takes if there were technical glitches and the continuity guys had to intervene.”

Rajesh A Krishnan revealed that while shooting, Kareena Kapoor was more interested in studying the director. He said that the actress’ first take would be her interpretation of a scene, and the second take would be a mix of what she and he wanted. The director also mentioned that they rarely did a third take for Kareena. Furthermore, he heaped praises on Kriti by saying that she has eyes for minute details. He recalled how Kriti would always have questions regarding her character.
