Yes, no matter how simple or lavish a marriage ceremony you are having, you should decorate the aisle. It is mandatory. But yes, the type of aisle decoration should depend on the flooring. If the church flooring is distracting, then decorate it with a nice aisle runner along with some standing displays like flower vases, candle holders, potted plants, monochromatic vases, or any other thing. If you are not keen on an aisle runner, then you can even cover the flooring with your favourite flowers and walk on it towards your man. And, if the flooring suits your taste then, no need to cover the aisle with a runner. Just a few standing displays on the side will be enough.
Use floral bouquets of various sizes to beautify the church. Place them on pews, church windows, at the entrance of the church, panels, or any place you want to. But, make sure you do not overdo it. Ask your friends to carry giant signs spelling Love, Newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs., or any other sign that speaks out the sentiment of the day.
