Well, one of the most beautiful actresses of the television industry is all set to marry one of the hottest heartthrobs of B-town. We’re talking about none other than Mahek Chahal and Ashmit Patel.
The news comes after the couple got engaged in Spain today (August 18, 2017).
Yes, you read that correctly. The Jai Ho actor slipped in the engagement ring to the hottie of Kavach... Kaali Shaktiyon Se fame in the most romantic way you can think of.
While speaking about this special day to the Bombay Times, Ashmit said:
I never told Mahek that I was carrying a ring with me. We were supposed to meet her family in Norway and I wanted to propose to her in Paris, the city of love, but it did not happen that way. We were at a cozy restaurant in Marbella (Spain), which had a fantastic view, and I decided to propose.

Talking about how exactly he proposed her, he said:
Mahek has a habit of having dessert after dinner, and I had decided to propose then. However, on that night, she did not ask for any dessert. So, I excused myself and asked the waiters to get some strawberries dipped in chocolate. I then placed the ring on the plate with strawberries, under a bowl which was placed upside.

Obviously, Mahek couldn’t control her happiness and said yes to Ashmit. She said:
I was so surprised, that I laughed out loud. Since we were not sure which finger — right or left — the ring should be worn on, we paused for a while. He then went down on his knees and the entire restaurant cheered for us. It was a very romantic proposal. We are meeting my parents and will finalise a date soon.
Speaking about their wedding plans, Ashmit added:
Hopefully, we should be married in six months. I want a destination wedding abroad, while Mahek prefers to get hitched in India.
Both of them have been ex-Big Boss contestants. While Ashmit participated in Season 4, Mahek was seen in Season 5. Quite evidently, seeds of their love were sown way before- after all, there has been a friendship of more than 12 years. But they fell in love with each other on the sets of Power Couple, a TV reality show.
