But once, in a 2023 interview, Alia Bhatt talked about mental health and revealed that she was seeking therapy. In a candid conversation with Vogue India, the then-newbie mother opened up, saying that people can only see how beautifully she is balancing both her motherhood duties and professional front. However, the actress mentioned that, in general, she does therapy classes weekly, and in this way, she has worked hard to voice her anxiety and fears. Calling it an ever-evolving, ever-growing process, Alia shared:

“I’m always wondering what people are thinking. Do they actually think I’m managing well, or are they only saying it to placate me? Even if there isn’t judgment, you feel very critical of yourself. But I work hard on my mental health — I go to therapy every week where I voice these fears. And it helps me understand that this is not something that I will be able to figure out on day one or five or even ten; it’s an ever-evolving, ever-growing process. You have to be able to pick up the pieces of yourself and build a new every day. There’s nothing like, ‘Oh, I’ve got it together… I’m coping excellently… I have all the answers.’ No one has all the answers.”

In another conversation with Barkha Dutt on Mojo, Alia mentioned that initially, she started taking therapy classes just to take care of her mind. She had started the same during the Covid-19 pandemic. She mentioned that the constant scrutiny that comes due to her profession led to immense pressure on her to maintain a proper body image. Thus, gradually, these therapy sessions began helping her in a healthier manner. She stated:

“That’s a struggle that’s been constant. Everyone around me would see it, but I would not see it. When I started therapy, I did it just as a hygiene thing. To take care of my body, I go to the gym; I need to take care of my mind as well. It’s something I started amidst the lockdown when everybody was going through a hard time, and I thought that maybe this would be a good time to start. I started as a generic thing, but what I discovered through those sessions is that I have so many issues when it comes to… I always knew I was anal when it comes to my weight because I’m facing the camera.”

Alia Bhatt once talked about her challenging motherhood journey

Earlier, in an interview with Humans of Bombay, Alia opened up about her motherhood journey and revealed how it changed her. The actress shared how she continues to multitask while maintaining a work-life balance. However, she discussed that despite everything, one look at her child gives her the energy to cope with things. She further mentioned that life is tough for everyone, so she can't sit and complain, but a good night’s sleep is always the way to recuperate for her.
