Weddings are meant to be a picture-perfect occasion, with every special moment frozen in photographs and videos forever. Everything about Indian weddings, these days, seems to be grand way to fuse the traditions with creativity and uniqueness. No wonder the outcome is always so beautiful and memorable!
Something similar is what this beautiful couple, Sahiba and Varun wanted, and what they got at the end was something much more stunning and special. But, things were completely different a day before their wedding (read till the end to find out). Over here is Sahiba and Varun's wedding tale. But before that, take a look at how Sahiba and Varun, added the hottest video trend 'lip dub' into their wedding with London Thumakda shot by Big Screen Weddings.
Lip dub is new in the wedding scene and is an interesting way to capture the wedding memories and celebrations with oodles of fun! The video above captures the essence of every special moment of Sahiba’s beautiful wedding, from the mehendi ceremony to the wedding itself.
Sahiba, a chirpy and bubbly Punjabi girl was getting married to her best friend of 7 years, Varun. She held a million dreams in her eyes and a million expectations in her heart, as her wedding day came closer.
Her biggest dream amongst all the preparations was to have the perfect wedding photographers and videographers who could capture not just the pictures, but the spirit of the most special day of her life. And, she did get the right team of professionals at the end who made her dream turn into a reality.
But, there was a lot more about this wedding than you can see in this video. It was a wedding planning nightmare that left the bride-to-be in tears, a day before her wedding. This is what, Sahiba told in the special letter that came to us along with this wedding video. And, this is something that every couple who is planning their wedding must read.
As told by Sahiba in her letter, it all started when she took up the offer by Big Screen Weddings, a Delhi-based company that offered to cover her wedding for free as a part of their promotional drive. Sahiba had already selected and hired the photographers/videographers to cover her wedding. And, for someone who wished to get perfect D-day memories to hold on to, this freebie was a great add-on. So, she accepted and had a meeting with her original photographers in order to accommodate both the teams. Unfortunately, the photographers were not pleased with this. Sahiba’s original photographers first sent some interns to cover her pre-weddding functions, and the day before the D-day, they simply refused to cover her wedding.
I was told that it is not possible for them to work for me if someone else is also covering my wedding. The cherry on top being the announcement, “Ask the others to cover your wedding, because I am not coming tomorrow.” I felt like someone has just slapped me hard on my face. The phone call ended, and I ended up in tears, I didn’t have anyone to cover my wedding. I immediately called the Big Screen Weddings. They were as astonished as I was, and after half an hour I get a phone call saying, “We will cover your wedding just the way you wanted it, please trust us! Let us handle this, see you tomorrow.” They covered my wedding like it was their own, they didn’t charge a penny.
Well, we are glad that everything turned out well at the end for this bride. However, this story leaves an important message for all the soon-to-be married couples that how crucial it is to know your photographer well.
How to choose the right wedding photographer?
Photography is not just about pictures, but also about the person behind the lens. He/she is the one who will give you those everlasting moments, therefore:
You and your photographer should share the same wavelength. Make sure they know what you want, and you know how they work.
Meet them a couple of times, and have in-detail chats with them. Be sure, whether you can trust the person with your "once in a lifetime" moment or not?
Do not solely rely on a photographer's social media work showcase, and fancy show reels. Sometimes, what you see online is not necessarily what you will get in real!
In the last, make sure that you have a proper written contract signed. This is the best way to save your wedding from any problem.
After all the hitches and hurdles, what we see in this video is a happy bride who has beautiful and heart-warming memories of her wedding. And, that is what every couple wants by the end of the day, isn't it!
