For many women, their wedding day is the most important day of their lives. They fantasize about their wedding day, dreaming about everything from the dress to the venue to the décor to the food. In fact, some brides to be get so caught up in the hysteria of planning a wedding that they forget about the most important part – the marital relationship.
At the end of the day, the saat pheras symbolize your (supposed) desire to spend your next seven lifetimes with your husband. Weddings are extremely expensive
Getting married is a pretty expensive affair, especially for the bride’s family. After all, the proportions of The Big Fat Indian Wedding are pretty legendary. If you followed the media coverage of the wedding of GVK Reddy’s 20 year old granddaughter Mallika to the scion of a Hyderabad infrastructure family, then you could be forgiven for thinking that the wedding was taking place in 1980. In fact, most of the media outlets referred to the bride solely as “GVK’s granddaughter”, as if that was the sum of her identity. If you want to go in for such a marriage, then be prepared for a lot of “adjustment”! In fact, you may have to “adjust” so much that you might as well end up getting a lobotomy!
